The most important decisions you can make have to do with what you teach your children.
Even at the youngest age, and even if you die young, nothing is more important in your life than what it is that you teach your children.
A child is a clean slate, with so much potential, and so impressionable. They depend on you, learn everything from you, by watching you, by mimiking you, by reacting to you and the environement you provide to them. This is the basis of the decisions that they make later in life, and for everything that results from those decisions.
There is no more sacred and long lasting task than to do well as a parent. There is no experience that will challenge you more, make you learn more, or shape you more than parenthood.
Too many parents take this too lightly. Your mistakes will haunt you, and them, for a lifetime; just as your triumphs in this area will reward you, and them, with joy and triumph, for a lifetime.
What you do as a parent, will change their lives, and your life, for eternity; and will also affect the rest of us who live in this world, for an eternity.
When you love them, you create love. When you dicipline them, you create strength and character. When you teach them to understand things, you enlighten them; and the information you share becomes conviction in you.
If you dissengage from your children, disrepect them, take advantage of them, or ignore them, you also do it to yourself, and to all of us. This is where what is called sin comes from. These mistakes carry on the seventh generation and beyond.
Being a young child is much like being in a beautiful Garden, where everything is provided. Children are clean, they know no sin, they know no nakedness, they know no remorse, and they have no fear. But if they never were exposed to these things, they would never grow, remaining, basically, an intelligent monkey, an animal.
As they grow older, and they become more aware of their surroundings, they gain knowledge that they need to exist in an imperfect world; they are forced to deal with things, and can no longer be protected.
They develop a will of their own, they challenge everything; and they learn lessons that both make them stronger, and also are very painful.
Even this process is part of a very special plan, to make them grow, and become more of a human. It is no accident that things work the way that they do. It is what makes us, us. We are all connected in a very special way.
Everything that we do affects all of us.
Agape love comes from the realization that we are all one, and that no mater how big or small, how good, or how mistaken we are, we are all part of one whole human race. Teach your children well.
And the LORD God planted a garden eastward, in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

What you Believe you Become
When I was five, my father beat the hell out of my mother, and left, as I watched. I never saw him again, he died overseas when I was seven. So my mother moved five of us, 2 older sisters and two younger bothers and myself, to Livermore California to use her top secret clearance from Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico (white sands) to become a draftsman for Lawrence Livermore Laboratories, to support 5 children as a single mom.
Since I had never been to school at six years old, I was enrolled in the first grade. A little behind, they put me back into kindergarten. There, for 60 days, I was put into the Sylvan learning program, and aloud to study at my own speed. They wanted me to complete 1-2 learning modules per day. I completed 6-7 modules per day, then, already reading and doing math at the third grade level, was accelerated and put into the second grade. For the balance of my education, I was always in talented and gifted programs, and got very high marks. We moved a great deal.
My mother died of cancer in Berkeley California when I was 11, leaving five orphans. We were split up, lived in foster homes and group homes, and I became an emancipated minor at 17.
My life was hard, but I always knew what I was capable of, and that normal rules did not necessarily apply to me, making it possible for me to achieve many amazing things in my lifetime, in spite of my humble beginnings.
My father was an Entrepreneur, founded the first FM radio station in Cloud Croft NM in a converted chicken coop – Maxwell Rothman – an electrical engineer who worked with Kernel Stapp on the first “rocket chairs” at the White Sands ( not really, was nuclear bomb research).
My Mother, Sima Small Rothman, grew up in the Bronx, Jewish, spoke Yiddish, an artist.
When I think back on my life, I realize that much of my belief structure comes from this background.
Much of what we believe is taught
I have been a lifelong Entrepreneur, and have owned many business, made and lost and made back millions of dollars.
It all started with what I was taught to believe. My mother always told me that because I was a Rothman, and because it was America, and because I was Jewish, that I was stronger, more brave, and smarter than others, and that God would always have my back.
Like all young people, I needed to verify these things for myself, and I challenged everything in my youth. I studied and searched for answers, and ended up confirming everything that I had been taught.
There is in fact an interactive relationship between cause and effect: “In the beginning, there was the word, and the word was God, and the word was with God…”

Circumstances happen. We do not choose our own name, our genetics, our nationality, our physical attributes, or our religion, in our beginning. We have no power over where and when we are born, nor who our parents are.
However, from that point on, the lives that we live, are our own. Everything that we think, feel, and do is a creation; a manifestation, you might say, of our own free will.
Regardless of what circumstances you find yourself in at the moment, you have power way beyond what you are aware of to affect change, if you decide to do so; and no matter who or what you are, somebody who started with much less has accomplished more, with less hesitation, and in less time.
Success in anything, in life itself, is driven, is accomplished, is doable with awareness and realization of these truths, which we all recognize, because they are written into our DNA, because we are humans.
As for myself, I will now write this book, because I can, and I will.

Whatever market you choose, if you do not understand it, why did you choose it?
The market that you choose to go after, defines you, not the market; the market, if there is one, is just the market.
The reason to choose a market, is because you already know and understand that market, and know how to profit from it.
Understanding-Driven Marketing is simply selling to a market that you understand. You may understand it because you have shopped it, bought from it, worked in it, or inherited it. But whatever the base of such knowledge, the more you understand it:
- The potential and/or existing customers
- The costs involved with delivering the product to market
- The value statement for the product itself
- The step-by step actions that need to happen to acquire the market
..the more you understand these factors, the more successful will be your effort, your business, your cause, your passion, your movement or whatever the case may be, based on why you chose the market to begin with.
In 2016, we have many automated ways in which to fill in these blanks in your knowledge base, and adjust accordingly. We also have many automated ways to actually execute the business plan once it is defined, in many cases, completely without bricks and mortar, paper, or even paid advertising, using social media.
This is why I call it “Understanding-driven Marketing“, because many business and/or causes these days require little else than these understandings to launch.
For instance:
You would assume that being in the gun business would require a location, inventory, personnel, advertising, licences, expertise, certifications, and capital necessary to fund all these things. If you were successful in assembling all these things, you would still need to be an expert on the market, but let us attack this a different way, with the
“Understanding-Driven Marketing” approach…
Lets suppose that:
- Your reason for going into business is simply to make money from home, without doing any of these things
- You understand that the gun market is a good and hot market at the moment
- You understand that bricks and mortar gun brokers already exist, and that they pay for advertising to get business to their stores
- You understand that with social media, you can reach any audience, almost for free with real content.

And if they were my client, I would be promoting them, right now, and doubling their business right now by writing this article and circulation it to the 22M people who read my stuff, about how to do social media marketing.
